Who's got the best solution to clothes drying?

Never known a winter so bad for drying the washing. Desperately trying to avoid using the evil 2.5kW tumble dryer, but there was only one day this month where we got stuff out on the line in the garden - and that did bugger all drying. Usually there's at least one day a week that's suitable.

It's also taken a lot of effort to get indoor RH levels down below 80% (never known it this high in the house - probably connected with outdoor conditions). So I'm not going to be laying stuff out on radiators.

How do other people manage?
