Need to talk about the abominable ending in [How Dare You]...

Y'all I don't think I've ever laughed this much at a story (and I it's NOT a comedy). I was reading those last 10 chapters in utter disbelief just wondering how this train wreck was going to end. My main through was why are we going so fast?? It started off as a typical "shitty possessive ML" story but at least FL had a backbone in the beginning. I was expecting a semi-satisfying redemption arc or at least SOME semblance of ML displaying a single redeemable quality, but all we got was a pathetic excuse for an ending. Honestly, I genuinely believe the author was just so sick of all the characters that they said F it after the first 20 chapters and just speed ran the last 20. In the span of like 10 chapters we get FL getting tortured, having SEVERE PTSD, running away, surviving a murder plot from the empress (mind you, we get introduced to her with like two chapters left?), reuniting with ML, and somehow telling him she loves him despite him doing absolutely nothing to deserve said love. There's this weird incest plot going on with the princess and her uncle and that's not even the most disturbing part of this story 🤣. At one point, FL is sent to a torture chamber in which she develops a child-like dependency on the ML because he "saved" her (he's part of the reason she's in there), and that's how she comes to love him. She also replaces all the happy memories she had with the 2nd ML with the ML because her memories start getting blurred and ML just lets?? it ?? happen?? Icl, this part made me absolutely sick to my stomach and I felt so empty/ drained reading it- but you know what? I kinda wish the story would have ended here. At least then the ending would've reflected how much of a pure horror story this is rather than a romance. I feel like this representation of a trauma response would've made it so much more interesting if it was done correctly. Also every. single. man. in this story is HELLLL. I would never wish death on anyone but I was hoping ML would pull the trigger on that gun to his head idc. Overall, I wouldn't wish FL's situation/ ending on my worst enemy and I stand by that!
