Should I skip class for period symptoms

I have never really had symptoms bad enough to consider skipping class before, but this period is truly awful (been wondering if antibiotics affecting birth control or possible new development of endometriosis/PCOS is responsible). Even though bleeding hasn’t arrived yet, since yesterday about 7 pm I’ve had horribly painful cramps coming and going and untouched by Midol , nausea, constipation, hot/cold flashes, and gas. I don’t really wanna miss second intro day of college courses but I just don’t know if I’ll be able to go. What thoughts do you have? How do you usually decide when it’s too much? I haven’t even had restful sleep between the pain and thinking about when the cramps will come back.

Update: So it seems like most of my cramping was actually of the gastrointestinal variety, and (tmi) diarrhea. Now I’m confused on whether this is still related to my period (entirely possible based on past symptoms) or if it is more related to maybe something I ate (college dining halls) most of the cramping is easing but I’m not sure if symptoms for either would have abated in time for my 10:30 class in 1.5 hours. Took Imodium and just hoping the first two times were enough for whatever was in there.

Update Part 2: I did call out of class today, we’ll see what tomorrow brings. I have since found out that these cramps were actually my body trying to cope with food poisoning. Someone else in my school on Reddit said they were having similar symptoms from the same dining hall food. I called out mostly due to concerns of this possibly being contagious. My period on the other hand has remained several days late thanks to antibiotics messing with the function of my bc pills regulating my cycle.
