Do I have to tan to be Yamanba?
As a baby gyaru, I've been trying to do my best to find out what style fits me best, and I've really enjoyed doing Yamanba makeup. I have no problem with getting clothes, dying my hair, and I absolutely love the idea of doing it all the time. Only problem is, I'm absolutely not allowed to get a tan. It's this weird rule my mom has always had, and no matter how much I argue with her I can't change her mind. I've been doing my best to research whether or not this is a must have for the style, and I've seen a lot of mixed answers. I've seen a lot saying it's essential, while others say as long as I follow the makeup and style I should be fine.
This wouldn't be a forever thing, I turn 16 in about 5 months so at that point I'll have a lot more freedom over what I do and buy, so atp I'll just do it no matter what my mom says. But for the time being, is it okay for me to be Yamanba without a tan?
Edit: tysm for all of your amazing insights!!! I think for a while I'll just start to collect pieces and use them in non gyaru related looks till I can get my tan. And to all the people saying to be careful, I promise I will!! I'm not gonna go crazy for the first time bc my skin is already sensitive so I'll work my way towards the level of tan I want.
