From W220 to C205

Thinking to switch from my 2004 s320Cdi to an 2016+ C205. Not sure about the engine, the cheaper ones are around c200 or c250 or c220D.

Any recommendations? How is the maintenance? What engine to avoid ? I believe anything above c300 is too expensive, don't want to spend (finance) more than 25k.

My current w220 has 310.000km now and starts to make problems here and there. I already fixed a lot but it's always something different.
